*After a lengthy investigation by the RCMP and railway police; neither revealed any information for many decades, maintaining that 'the case was still under investigation.' During hearings in the early eighties, some additional but not definitive information was provided by the RCMP and CPR, and the claim was put forward that that was all that there was. On a national television program, OMBUDSMAN, the Attorney General of British Columbia promised this author and the show's host, Robert Cooper, that additional information would be provided. He subsequently changed his mind and chose not to reveal anything, in the interests, he said, 'of preserving peace in the community.' Continuing enquiries by friends, relatives and unsatisfied Doukhobor scholars and historians have not yielded any new clues regarding this heinous, criminal act assassination through threats or premonition - we will never know. We only know that an explosive device placed behind his seat blew up with such force that it ripped the top of the railway carriage, killing him and six other people. The location of the bomb indicates that he was the intended victim.
