Ainsworth paw
Located 45 minutes north of Nelson, Ainsworth's major attractions is the Ainsworth Hot Spring. As well, the cool waters of Kootenay Lake provide terrific fishing all year round.

Balfour paw
A popular resort for fisherman. Balfour provides access to great fishing on Kootenay Lake. Kootenay Lake has an abundance of Dolly Varden, Gerrard Rainbow Trout and Kokanee fish.

Castlegar paw
The crossroads of the Kootenays overflows with recreational opportunities: Hiking, canoeing, river and lake fishing, camping, mountain biking, golfing, and the list goes on. Castlegar's Doukhobor heritage still flourishes in the area and can be seen in the large communal homes and orchards dotted throughout the area, or simply by visiting the fascinating Doukhobor Village Heritage Museum just opposite the airport.

Christina Lake paw
Located 20 km east of Grand Forks, Christina Lake offers some of the best summer climate in British Columbia. For recreational activities. Creston paw
Generally considered an agriculture-base community, the Creston Valley is second only to the Okanagan Valley in tree fruit production. The 17 000 acre Creston Valley Wildlife Management area is dedicated to wetland environments and public recreation. Much of the management area is open to the public for hiking, biking, bird watching, canoeing, fishing, hunting, and camping at the Summit Creek Campground

Grand Forks paw

Visit historical Greenwood Canada's smallest incorporated city 52 kilometers west of Grand Forks on the old Kettle Valley Railway.

Kaslo paw
The main attraction in Kaslo is the S.S. Moyie, the oldest stern wheeler in the world. Also to be found in Kaslo is an abundance of Victorian architecture. In August the village of Kaslo hosts one of the best Jazz Festivals in the Kootenays.

Nakusp paw
Primarily known for it's soothing natural hot springs, Nakusp also offers a wide range of outdoor activities: golfing, hiking, biking, skiing and horseback riding trails, and extraordinary heli-skiing.

Nelson paw
Some of Nelson's attractions are Historic Streetcar 23, self-guiding heritage and craft-art-antique walking tours, Whitewater Ski Area, Granite Point Golf Course, and a Historic Museum. For over 50 years Nelson has hosted the annual Mid- Summer Curling Bonspiel which attracts curlers from all over the world.

Lemon Creek paw
New Denver during World War II 1500 Nikkei (Canadians of Japanese descent) were sent to a camp called "The Orchard", near New Denver. Today, the Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre tells the story of the relocated Japanese- Canadians.

Rossland paw
Rossland, Canada's Alpine City, provides many activities: panning for gold at the Le Roi Gold Mine Museum; attending the Gold Fever Follies, a musical theater which highlights Rossland's colorful past; world-class skiing at Red Mountain, and many biking trails.

Salmo paw
Salmo is home to the oldest telephone booth in the world. In Salmo's museum you can find exhibits of mining artifacts, photos and maps of the Dewdney Trail, as well as other unique articles.

Sandon paw
Sandon, once a bustling mining town of 5000, is now a legendary ghost town. In Sandon you can visit the Sandon Museum, the oldest operating hydro-electric station in B.C., and hundreds of old mines.

Silverton paw
The Silverton Outdoor Mining Museum displays 48 pieces of vintage mining machinery. Today's municipal office was the jail and policeman's residence in the early days. The Silverton Gallery is used for community art exhibits, music and dance classes, and open stage performances.

Slocan City paw
Once booming city of 6000 when incorporated in 1900, today Slocan City is a small logging and mill town. As well, along with New Denver and Silverton, Slocan is the gateway to the unspoiled wilderness of Valhalla Provincial Park. Hiking in the Valhalla exposes the true beauty of the landscape, and hiking trails are geared for all levels of difficulty.

Trail paw
Trail is home to the largest non-ferrous lead and zinc smelter in the world. Some other attractions in Trail includes Gryo Park, Trail Aquatic and Leisure Centre, Rossland Trail Country Club, Columbia river boat tours and guided fishing charters, a self-guided walking tour, downhill and cross-country skiing, and the annual Silver City Days Festival.
